2012
Teak & Soxy opens at 444 W. Water Street, the building that was once home of Muk Luks
It’s named after family horses that would escape their enclosure and roam the streets of Princeton
Matt runs the shop Friday through Sunday from May to October while not at his full-time job
The store sells home decor, fragrance and vintage goods
2013
The Merchant Room, an Airbnb, opens in one of the apartments above Teak & Soxy
Furnishings are gathered on loan from local merchants and are available for guests to buy
2014
Matt renovates Teak & Soxy for a better shopping experience
He also expands the shop’s hours and makes Teak & Soxy his full-time job
2015
Matt finds a white 1984 Check Econoline school bus on Craigslist
He parks it in the lot at 444 W. Water Street, and it becomes Horseradish Food Truck
Customers order inside of Teak & Soxy and can eat delicious sandwiches in the lot surrounding the bus
2016
Matt gets a liquor license and builds a tropical beer garden in the parking lot
After one too many cans of wine at Horseradish, Alex and Sarah go to an open house across the street and purchase 505 W. Water Street with no plans for its use
Alex also purchases a 10-foot wide shop at 521 W. Water Street
Alex approaches Matt and asks to partner on Horseradish 2.0
2017
Matt and Alex agree to partner and begin planning for the new space
Matt moves out of 444 W. Water Street
Demolition begins at new building in March, and 14 dumpsters are hauled away in the process
Teak & Soxy opens on a smaller scale at 521 W. Water Street
Horseradish Food Truck moves across the street to the lot at Princeton Garage
2018
Horseradish Kitchen + Market opens at 520 W. Water Street
Teak & Soxy remains open at 521 W. Water Street
The 505 at Horseradish Airbnb opens upstairs
2019
The Sunday Sessions launch
Matt & Alex purchase 544 W. Water Street with plans to open a hotel
2020
COVID strikes
Horseradish Kitchen + Market continues serving customers from a walk-up window
2021
Interior work begins at the future Parlor Hotel
The Sunday Sessions continue during the summer months
Teak & Soxy moves inside Horseradish Kitchen + Market
521 W. Water Street becomes storage for the Parlor Hotel
The lower yard is finished below the deck at Horseradish Kitchen + Market

Teak & Soxy celebrates 10 years
The Sunday Sessions celebrates its third summer season

Horseradish will celebrate 8 years of business
Parlor Hotel anticipates welcoming guests
